What is a closed-end lease?

Closed-end leasing is a contract-based system governed by law in the U.S. and Canada. It allows a person the use of property for a fixed term, and the right to buy that property for the agreed residual value when the term expires.

AClosed-end leaseis so called because it runs for a fixed term, and the lessor and lessee agree in the lease contract of which the residual value of the property being leased will be. In most cases (particularly in retail motor vehicle leases), the lessee has an option to purchase the property for the agreed residual value at the end of the lease term. A Closed-end lease is not used for property which increases in value.

Is Networking Important To Your Business?

This is a question that many people ask. Networking is the blood line to any business. Networking is how people find out about you and you about other people. Building a network allows you to still have social interaction with  your customers, staff and the general public. Is networking important? Yes it is very important.

How Important Is Networking?

How important networking is for entrepreneurs, and how to encourage people to network. It’s all about personal contact. No matter how heavy your workload is, do not allow yourself to work in your cubicle or office all day, every day — for your own well-being and the health of your business, you need to get out and about, meeting people and developing relationships. If you discuss a work matter with an employee or a potential client over coffee rather than simply sending over an email, you’re more likely to build rapport, which will be useful if you ever need to tackle any problems together. Good managers give their teams the freedom to set their own schedules, realizing that the same is true of employees’ relationships with their co-workers and the company’s clients.

That said, you can also make great connections while sitting at your desk. Through social media, you can get in touch with almost anyone, and then connect in the real world as well. Just recently, a 12-year-old business studies student sent me an email asking for some tips, and I spotted her note and wrote back. These days, the only thing stopping you from building up your network is how much time you dedicate to it. Everyone can and should be a networker.

Those good connections will breed more good connections. In the end, it all comes down to talking to people. Track down people you would love to work with and start sharing your ideas. You’ll soon discover that you have found some great partners — and more importantly, some great friends.

This holds true to any industry in which sales are made, from business to consumer, or business to business. Networking is definitely necessary to keep the communication channels open and form keys relationships that keeps your business running. Social media networking is key for any business now to stay fresh and connected to their customer, potential customers, business partners and staff. It is the fastest, free, and most interactive way to stay connected in a rapidly growing business environment.

The Truck Source

Since time began we have been told by the wise that giving is much more beneficial than receiving. There have probably been many occasions when you had a good reason to question that advice but even in those moments your higher self would probably agree with the concept. I came across something in a file I keep which suggests there is something you can give every day … that would provide you with great compensation.

The Truck SourceIt costs nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

None are so rich that they can get along without it, and none are so poor but are richer for its benefits. It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business and is the countersign of friends. Your gift will provide rest for the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad and nature’s best antidote for trouble.

Yet, it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away! And, if it ever happens that a salesperson should be too tired to give one of these to you, you may want to give them one of yours.

For nobody needs one of these so much as those who have none left to give. This is a bit of a riddle isn’t it? What on earth could provide so much for so little?

A SMILE – that’s right, a smile.

Make up your mind to give a big one to every person you come in contact with today.

A smile … form ear to ear, and pay particular attention to the reaction you get from every person you give one to. Professionals who train people on the proper use of the telephone will tell you to smile when you are using the telephone and it will improve your effectiveness.

To your success,
The Truck Source

The Fleet Manager Inc. was started in 1987 as a medium duty truck repair facility in an 800 square foot garage and two employees in Hanover Air park, Ashland Virginia. In 91 the company moved to share a location at our present address.

Due to high customer demand, in 92 The Fleet MAnager became a used truck dealer, to aid in acquiring new trucks and equipment and disposing of old equipment. Our Specialty then became importing medium duty trucks.                                    The Truck Source

  • 1995: We partnered with Checkered Flag Motor Company in Norfolk VA. The Fleet Manager became the largest seller of import medium duty trucks in the Richmond area.
  • 1996: We acquired the Norfolk dealership and renamed it to The Truck Source Inc. The new company featured Isuzu and Hino import trucks, including parts, service and sales
  • 1998: The Fleet Manager acquired the Nissan diesel franchise in Richmond and then changed the Richmond location to the Truck Source Inc. to take advantage of marketing synergies.
  • 2001: The Truck Source Inc. started TSI leasing to offer daily rental and full service leasing and contract maintenance.
  • 2003: The Truck Source Inc. started a full service body and paint shop.
  • 2005: We completed major renovations to the Norfolk branch to become the first air conditioned truck shop in state.
  • 2006: Major changes were made on the Richmond branch. We doubled the body shop size, increased the service, parts, and administrative department by 30 percent. We also rolled out pioneering new products such as remanufactured van bodies, a closed end lease product, and a new type of delivery trailer to enter lighter duty markets.

AWARDS

  • Isuzu Ichiban Sales Achievement Award: Every year but 2001
  • Hino Sales Achievement Award: 1999 and 2005
  • Nissan Sales Achievement Award: 2002

In 2007, the economy started to take a turn for the worse in the truck industry. We like everyone else had to downsize, and we had no idea of the impending storm that hit the economy lasting up until well now. We rethinked, retrenched and restructured and we stand firm an ready for steady positive growth in the upcoming years. We plan to do this with solid leasing programs, and preventative maintenance programs.
